cupcake sock tutorial

Kim from seven thirty three-a creative blog posted this adorable sock cupcake tutorial on Creativity for Kids today. I think this would make the perfect teacher appreciation gift, or even something fun for those Grandma's out there!

Free Printable

If you haven't noticed I love all things free. I stumbled upon this free printable for reindeer food from TomKat Studio.

You can find it here. It's way better looking than the barrel of oats we use to sprinkle for the reindeer at our house.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We finally got the tree unpacked and put up in the new house. Most of my decorations aren't coming out this year, but the ones that are sure are making it feel like Christmas is coming!

Christmas inspiration

While everyone around me is busily preparing for the holidays by decking their halls, my halls are still bare. I have not one...

but two mantels in my new house that are just begging to be decorated and yet, you can't decorate if you don't even have silverware in the drawers yet!

So please enjoy some inspiration while I schlep boxes and beds over to the new house today, in hopes that at least the tree will get set up this weekend. Fingers crossed!

A few things for my to do list

I have zero time to craft these days. We sign the papers for closing on our new home today and start moving in this week. I don't have a single Christmas decoration up around my house but wish that I did. So when I saw these three beauties when I was reading my blog roll, I knew I had to feature them. I only wish I had time to craft some of these guys up!

Isn't this scrabble tile coaster super fun? My mom is a major scrabble junkie and these would have been a perfect gift for her. Definitely on the to do list for next Christmas. Hop on over to Danielle is Nesting for the tutorial.

I was drawn to this handmade pine cone ornament instantly. I love the brown ribbon and the glitter. You can find the tutorial at Room to Inspire.

Paper Christmas Tree

I'm so busy trying to pack up our house and prepare to move, that I am super disappointed that I am not able to keep up with all of the Christmas crafts I would like to. I've been featuring a few so that you can be inspired and that I can remember all the wonderful things I want to do when I am not knee deep in boxes.

A New Home

It's going to be busy around my house for the next month or so. Back in July my husband and I put an offer on this house. We have been waiting for the deal to go through and in terms of a short sale four months isn't that long. We got both of the bank approval papers from the sellers loans, and now are moving forward. So with the inspection behind us and the closing date looming (less than two weeks away) we are moving very quickly. Bear with me as we go through these changes. I will be sure to have lots of posts as we make our new house a home.

craft bazaar preview

I've been working hard this week trying to get items together for the annual Meeker Craft bazaar this Saturday from 10-4. If you are local, please come find me. I would love to see you!

I also have coordinating coffee cozies, wallets, and kleenex holders. Fingers crossed I sell something!

What I wore Wednesday

While I was on vacation I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures for What I Wore Wednesday. But we did get this sunset beach shot of my family that I thought I would share with you. So for this week, we will be doing the What I Wore Wednesday-garage sale family edition. Are you ready?

And one last show and share: One of the highlights of the trip was being able to see turtles hatch and get to release them into the ocean. Our family is still talking about it. Isn't that a cool experience?!
