Top 10 Silhouette projects

One of my favorite crafting tools by far is my Silhouette machine.
{followed in a close second by my glue gun}
I received it about four years ago as a Christmas gift from my in-laws and I use it all the time.
I've shared a lot of tutorials over the years.
I've gathered up a list of my top 10 favorite silhouette projects.
Since Christmas is just around the corner, here are a few of my favorite Christmas crafts that I made using my Silhouette machine.

I think the thing that I have made most with my Silhouette has been custom t-shirts.
These are just a few of my favorites.

I've made paper dolls and tons and tons of custom invitations.
These library card ones are by far my favorite!

I've even made some things for our home,

My machine may be old and I am starting to get enticed by the fancy new features of other cutting machines, but my silhouette and I go way back.  I have her all figured out {most of the time}.  I love all of the different things my machine can do that it feels like the possibilities are endless sometime.

Do you have a silhouette?
What's your favorite project?
Share the link below, I would love to see it!

Top Craft Posts of 2012

On Monday, I shared with you my top posts of 2012.
Interestingly enough, none of them were craft related.
And crafts are my favorite thing!
So, I'm going to do a recap of the top craft posts of 2012.
In January I showed you all how to make your own adjustable ring base.
In February, my Valentine's day recap has been a popular post.
However, my favorite craft from February was probably this ruffle dress {from a cardigan} that I made for my daughter to wear to her daddy/daughter dance.
I also love my linen and book page canvas that I did.
In March, I made this $10 stenciled rug.
I still love it.
In April, I put together some Disney themed crafts for my nieces first trip.
In May, I RIT dyed my favorite jeans and showed you how too!

In June I made a mod podge silhouette charm bracelet of my three favorite people.
I also made a growth chart ruler that is a family favorite.
In July I shared with you the details of the mermaid themed birthday party that I decorated for my niece's 5th birthday.
In August, I showed you how to make custom TOMS shoes.
In September I shared my Restoration Hardware subway art knock off {from an old canvas}
In October, I shared with you how I took Dollar Store pumpkins and updated them with some book pages and twine.
In November I showed you how I made my favorite new Christmas decoration, reindeer subway art.
I had a few favorite Christmas crafts I wanted to share with you as well.
Glitter Christmas Pillows
Sheet Music wreath
 sheet music Christmas trees {from cereal boxes}
and a tutorial for chalkboard art

Finally in December, we wrapped it up with {gasp} another Dollar Store craft.
Updated glitter light bulb ornaments
Did I miss any of your favorite crafts of 2012?
Did any of my crafts inspire you to make your own version?
If so, please don't hesitate to send me pictures or a link to your blog post.
I would love to start a monthly reader feature.
Thank you all for reading along with me this past year.
We are sure to have lots more fun in 2013!

Top Posts of 2012

It's been another fantastic year here at Holy Craft.
A year of HUGE growth and the feeling that I am finally a real blogger.
If you have just started following along with me, welcome!  I am happy to have you here.
If you have been around for awhile, I can't thank you enough for sticking with me, supporting me, and sharing me with your friends.  Thank you!
Let's spend some time looking back on the top posts of 2012.
By FAR, the most popular post this year {and ever} has been my
Things to Buy at the Dollar store series.
With nearly {gulp} 1 million page views since February, and over 300 comments, this post really hit home for a lot of Dollar Store shoppers.
In case you missed it, you can find the series of posts here:

Should you buy a Dollar Store pregnancy test
The second most popular post was our Teenage Cell Phone Contract
With our oldest son venturing into the world of cell phones, texting and technology, my husband and I knew that we needed some clear guidelines for his cell phone usage.
This post has been the most controversial post that I have written and has gotten some interesting feedback. Number 12 seems to strike a chord with a lot of people.  What do you think?
The third most popular post of 2012 has been my 6 weeks to a bikini body...or why I had a tummy tuck instead.
I shared with all of you my experience {complete with before and after pictures} why I had a tummy tuck and some realistic expectations that will help you make the best decision if you are contemplating the procedure.
It's interesting to see that none of those posts are actually posts about anything crafty at all.
And craftiness is my favorite of all, so I will share with you some of my favorite craft posts of 2012 with you on Wednesday.

Top projects from 2011

I have been taking a little blogging break this week to enjoy the time off with my family.  My parents and younger brother have been visiting us this past week from Arizona so I have taken some time off of blogging to be with them.

But, I don't want to let the year go by without highlighting some of my favorite projects from 2011.  It's been a busy year for our family with a new home, a new puppy and a new community.  Holy Craft has grown by leaps and bounds this year and I look forward to what 2012 has in store.  If you missed some of my past projects, here they are in a nice tidy month by month package.

January

The year started off with lots of unpacking and settling in.  I did manage to get my new silhouette machine humming and made these house numbers for my front door.

I also made this hand stamped initial necklace

February

The month was a bit slow for me as I tried to make our house feel like a home and get into the routine of a having a new puppy.

I shared with you my skills on a lathe though and featured this ring that I made my husband out of a hunk of stainless steel.

March

I started March with a four part series I called "or current resident".  I was getting magazine, after magazine, after magazine for the old resident and took advantage of the inspiration that I found from them.  This shirt is one of the things that I made.

April

We celebrated my daughter's 9th birthday with a spa party with posts here, here, and here

May

May brought you this book page EAT sign out of vintage utensils

and a tutorial on how to make a fruit platter.

June

June brought you potato sack pillows

July

In July, I completed a master bedroom makeover.  I spray painted all of our existing bedroom furniture and gave our bedroom a face lift.  Check out the before.

My husband also made me a new mirror for our bedroom.

August

I took a little bit of a blog break to complete my second and third half marathons  (then quit running and told you about it here) and to enjoy the last month of our kids summer at home.

I did manage to complete the "or current resident" series and shared this ruffle shirt with you.

September

In September I shared with you the "She's about to Pop" baby shower that I co-hosted.  The shower provided several posts through September.  You can read more about the sweets and treats here, and the popcorn containers here.

October

While September started baby season, October only continued it.  I made two different versions of the 12 month onesies.  You can find them here and here.  I must say, it's been fun to see the babies wearing these onesies as they grow each month.

I also repurposed cashmere sweaters into soft and cuddly baby blankets.

And I tackled my sons room and made him this gear wall art.

November

I made several versions of subway art

and a few versions of book page wreaths.

and this

December

I shared with you how I made my ornament garland

and also a few of the baby gifts that I made

Did you have any favorites that I missed?

I had such a wonderful time sharing these projects with you throughout 2011 and can't wait to share many more in 2012.

Happy new year!
