She's About To Pop Baby Shower

Welcome to Baby Shower week at Holy Craft!

Last week, I co-hosted a baby shower for my sister-in law Val who is about to welcome their first baby (a girl) into the world. I was in charge of the decorations and the activities and games. Today I am going to share with you the whole shower. Throughout the week, I will share with you a few of the details.

In June, I sent the mom to be a few baby shower ideas and color schemes. I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to plan and organize! With the shower date being just four weeks away from her due date, I think the theme that was settled on ("She's About To POP") was an appropriate one!

As the guests arrived they were welcomed into the home with bubbles blowing all around them.

Once inside a polka dot filled table greeted them

The guests took a second to catch their breath

The first thing they could do was guess when Val would officially POP! I got this calendar at our local scrapbook store and added the letters from my silhouette machine. I thought it would be a fun keepsake for the baby book.

My other sister in law had the idea of getting a frame with both parents pictures and leaving a space for the baby's picture when she arrives. Each guest was able to write a little message to the baby on the matting.

Each guest could also grab a wishes for baby sheet that they could fill out however they wanted.
Lil Sugar offers them as a free download here.

Guests were then encouraged to help themselves at the buffet table.

A Welcome Baby banner hung in the dining area.

I actually cut up polka dot place mats that I found at the dollar store and then stitched the triangles together with pink ribbon and used the remaining place mat to cut out circles which I then sewed together.

When using my silhouette machine, I also made sure that any empty space with filled with various sized circles that would later be cut out and sewn together to make another banner above the table. I made tissue paper pom poms

and my mother in law ordered the adorable polka dot balloons.

I love how easy cupcakes are and knew I wanted to have them be part of the shower. Complete with custom cupcake liners and cupcake stands.

Sticking with the theme we also offered several different kinds of gourmet POPcorn

Just after the shower theme was nailed down, Silhouette offered this popcorn box shape for free on it's website! Score!

Having had so much time to plan and purchase items for the shower, I was always on the look out for polka dots or "pop" themed items. I found these sweet flower lolliPOPs and placed them inside this polka dot bucket with tissue paper surrounding it.

Around the table I also decorated with gerbera daisys. They weren't just for decoration though. After the shower, the mom to be was able to keep the flowers. They are actually hair flowers that I made for the baby when she is born. I hear the mom to be was bald for two years!

Cupcake stands and custom cupcake wrappers were a fun addition to the table.

As were the cake POPS in the green buckets

Each cake pop was individually wrapped with the theme printed on a hang tag.

We also provided a candy table with various coordinating colored candy. The shower wouldn't have been complete without POP rocks and candy that you could "pop" into your mouth!

See that sweet hand stealing some goodies?

We also served a summer strawberry POPpyseed salad

Fruit POPS (really just melon balls and round fruit)

Did I mention that we had cupcakes?

Everyone had a wonderful time chatting and enjoying the celebration!

Even the littlest girls!

The Great Grandma on the far right will be welcoming five new additions to the family this coming year!

Each guest left with candy and lollipops as their party favors.
