I went shopping with my friend Patty this week and as a belated birthday present she picked me up this adorable vintage looking pumpkin. Isn't he cute? I was inspired by his green and orange to make some coordinating garland.
I picked this crepe paper up at a garage sale this summer for a quarter. I found the bat template at The Long Thread and used some sharp scissors.
I started by folding the crepe paper back and forth so I could make more than one bat at a time.
Then I laid the template down (notice it's a little bigger than the paper, that's fine) and cut around it.
I ended up with a nice big pile of bats
Then I took some black thread and stitched a line straight down the middle
Feeding in a new bat (make sure they are all facing the same direction) so the tips touch.
That's it!
The kids really like it.
